Oh my gall, this company has some cool stuff! I was looking for a talking clock radio and I found a really cool one, but it is only for the UK.

Anyway, I came across the following product. How great is this!?
Talking CD Wallet
This unit holds and protects up to 20 CD’s (2 per page). It allows you to record
a 6 second message per page, typically the artist/CD title. Recorded messages are
automatically played back every time you turn a page.

This thing would be brilliant! I've always wanted something to make those cd walets accessible. Sure, I've thought of labling the plastic pages but that is no good, when various cds may go in and out.

Gall, the talking clock radio looks wonderful, I hope the US comes up with one soon. It was the [ SONUS-1 Talking DAB Radio Alarm Clock ] if anyone wondered.

Hmmm, what a fun wishlist of products.

I know I've heard of it, but what's the web site?

www.cobolt.co uk. and why can't you ship to the us from that site? sure it would cost a bit, but if that's what you want.

It's not shipping. It kind of sounded like the radio was set up for the UK; it may not work as weel in the US? I'm not sure, didn't fully understand it. *smile*

Personally I just label the CD's themselves. But I'd like a talking clock radio, with a CD player, tape player, iPod, but maybe that's too much to ask? lol

And knowing how this sort of thig usually works out even if such a radio was ever built it would cost more than the average blind person can really afford to spend.

You don't have Digital audio broadcasting in the US to my knowledge, so while the radio is nice, and I have one, it would be of no use out there. I guess though that if you could have the same functionality in some form of satelite radio, for you guys it would be priceless.

Digital audio broadcasting? Is that the same as hd radio?

Yeah. That's what I was wondering. I have so many CD'S it would be pointless to only be able to carry around 20 in that talking CD wallet. However, I label mine anyway and store them in a large case that holds like 250 CDS or something, maybe ab 150. Shows how much I actually mess with CDS, eh? I personally am an MP3 player/Laptop girl, and I like having all my music in one place so I can access it quickly. There is a talking clock radio I saw on Speak To Me Catalog.com.It's made by Cobolt Systems, and I actually saw one that somebody I know has. It's cool but costs over $100.

If it speaks the radio station names, clock, and has preset options, I think it would be worth it. Of course, I'd want good reception. Lol, the radio I currently have never sticks on the station; drives me nuts!

I'm glad you mentioned Speak to Me. They have great products too and are always updating.

love speak to me!
I had some good dealings with them in the past. Hope it stays the same.

I didn't see this radio on speak to me; however I saw a very goofy talking radio! His name is Mr. Radio or something. Very silly!

Speak to me is where I ordered the say what game. Hey, it would be cool if they sold the bopbit games! Still haven't played those.

Well, maybe I need to email Cobolt systems, maybe this radio does work in the US?

I think right now though, I'd be happy with a radio that offers presets. I don't have to have the talking feature. I have a talking alarm clock on my night table anyway.
